Alexis Adugdaa, Ayamdor
(Assist. Industrial Liaison Officer & Sectional Head)
The Industrial Liaison Office is led by Mr. Alexis A. Ayamdor, who also serves as the Sectional Head for the Job Placement Centre. With over two decades of experience in education, local governance, international development, and healthcare, Mr. Ayamdor brings a wealth of expertise to his role. He holds advanced degrees, including a Master in Peace and Conflict Studies (MPACS) from the University of Queensland (Australia), and an MBA in Corporate Strategy and Economic Policy from Maastricht School of Management (The Netherlands), complemented by a BA in Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana (Legon).
Mr. Ayamdor’s career is distinguished by high-level leadership roles, including serving as District Chief Executive for Bongo District, Program Officer for Catholic Relief Services, Sub Office Coordinator for USAID-Ghana, and intern in Political Affairs at the ECOWAS Parliament and Commission. His work has consistently focused on project design and implementation, stakeholder engagement, policy development, and community development across Ghana and internationally. He has also worked closely with institutions like UNICEF, WaterAid, GiZ, IBIS/West Africa, and the Australian Red Cross.
At BTU, Mr. Ayamdor coordinates industrial attachment programs, builds university-industry partnerships, and supervises career readiness activities. His leadership is supported by colleagues across other departments who work collaboratively with faculty supervisors, management team members, and external partners to execute the ILO’s activities successfully.
His key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating industrial attachment programs and fostering university-industry linkages.
- Facilitating student internships, industrial tours, and faculty supervision.
- Leading initiatives such as the Graduate Employment Outcomes and Students Satisfaction Survey.
- Serving as Project Lead for the Ghana Technical Universities Tracer Study in collaboration with IFC, GTEC, and ISSER.
- Drafting policies, conducting job-readiness training, and analyzing industry feedback to inform curriculum reviews.
In addition to his role at the ILO, Mr. Ayamdor serves as the Focal Person for University Health Services, where he supervises clinic staff and leads outreach programs. He also acts as the Head of the International Collaborations Directorate, where he coordinates partnerships with global institutions like the France Embassy, European Union-Erasmus Mundus programs, and GiZ. His commitment to fostering global engagement has played a critical role in advancing institutional development, staff and student exchanges, and grant mobilization, including securing funds for the university’s Daycare Centre and implementing the YCI HerStart social entrepreneurship program. Alexis is the Institutional Coordinator for BTU/Forum for Africa Female Educationists (FAWE)/Mastercard Foundation students bursary for programme.
Mr. Ayamdor’s extensive experience, strategic vision, and commitment to student success and institutional growth make him a pivotal figure in bridging academia with industry and international opportunities. His work aligns with BTU’s mission to produce skilled, adaptable, and globally competitive graduates.
